Occupational Therapy (OT) Services
Occupational Therapy is a holistic health profession that supports physical and mental wellness through participation in meaningful activities and balance across activities of work, leisure, rest, and self-care.
Occupational Therapy Services
Occupational therapy services are provided by Sharon Vincuilla, OTD, OTR/L on an individual and private pay format. Sharon completed her doctoral residency with Painted Brain, a community-based non-profit organization that provides opportunity for community reintegration for adults labeled with serious mental illness. Key accomplishments achieved throughout the residency included designing and launching formal group and individual OT services; establishing a services contract with Psychological Care & Healing (PCH) Center; generating revenue from OT services that exceeded twice the costs; establishing Level II Fieldwork placements for OT master’s students at the University of Southern California and Level I Fieldwork and doctoral residency placements for students at California State University at Dominguez Hills and West Coast University, respectively; and establishing 2 positions for licensed OT's within the organization. After working as the Director of Occupational Therapy at Painted Brain in 2019, Sharon developed this private practice to support adults labeled with serious mental illness in achieving personal wellness goals, actively participating in community-based activities (including but not limited to formal schooling and paid employment), and improved overall health.
Sharon's work focuses on coaching you to develop skills in the areas of self-regulation, health or symptom management, cognition, community or social participation, self-advocacy, and occupational balance.
This work begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your daily routine, sensory processing patterns, cognitive skills, environment, and resources. This takes 1 or 2 sessions, depending on your needs. Following the evaluation, Sharon will collaborate with you to set goals and create a plan for reaching them. Subsequent sessions are 60 minutes each and are delivered via Telehealth.
How do I pay for this?
At this time, Sharon does not bill directly to insurance. Payments are accepted up front. If you would like to pursue reimbursement* for OT services, let Sharon know and she will provide you with documentation that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
(*At this time, this is only available for clients residing in CA).
Confidentiality & Telehealth
OT sessions are offered via Telehealth through a HIPAA complaint platform called Doxy.me. All sessions are private and secure and your information will always be kept confidential.
